HOLY COW, LOUISE COURVOISIER

On 21 May at 6:00 PM, the International Film Festival of Santarém presents "Holy Cow" (Amor e Queijo), by French director Louise Courvoisier. The film arrives in Portugal as a national premiere, after winning the Youth Award "Un Certain Regard" at the Cannes Film Festival and two awards at the César 2025: Best Film and Best Female Newcomer.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR Louise Courvoisier grew up in the Jura region of France, later studying film at Cinéfabrique in Lyon. Her graduation short film, "MANO A MANO", won the first prize at Cinéfondation in Cannes in 2019. HOLY COW (VINGT DIEUX) is her first feature fiction film: a sentimental and cheesy epic, set in her childhood village. This warm and vibrant portrait of rural youth was awarded at Cannes and at the César Awards.
