EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

SOWING CULTURE FROM AN EARLY AGE

The educational programme of the Santarém International Film Festival (FICS) returns in 2025 with a schedule specially designed for children, young people, families, teachers, and education professionals. Aimed at audiences aged between 4 and 18, the "Sementes e Rebentos" ("Seeds and Sprouts") initiative reaffirms itself as a space for discovery, reflection, and creativity through the language of cinema. 

This year, the project expands its geographical reach to include the municipalities of Almeirim, Alpiarça, and Rio Maior, reinforcing FICS’s ongoing commitment to cultural decentralisation and democratic access to the cinematic arts. 

The 18th edition once again partners with MONSTRA – Lisbon Animation Festival, bringing an educational and artistic dimension to the programme, with workshops designed to foster critical thinking, visual literacy, and intergenerational dialogue.
