SEASONS, a film by Maureen Fazendeiro

The countdown to the Santarém International Film Festival (FICS) begins with the FICS 2026 Warm-Ups — special screenings that anticipate the spirit of the festival and invite audiences into a cinematic universe connecting land, territory, ecology and memory.

The first screening takes place March 11 at 21:30, at Teatro Sá da Bandeira in Santarém, with Seasons, by Maureen Fazendeiro.

Combining testimonies from rural workers, field notes from archaeologists, archival footage and elements of oral tradition, the film travels through the real and imagined history of the Alentejo and the communities that lived there.
