The large estates of Coruche and Couço, in Ribatejo, lands abandoned by their owners, are occupied by peasants. The agricultural unions of the region recruit the necessary workforce to harvest the tomatoes, which will be processed in a cooperative in the Sorraia valley. From the perspective of the rural workers, agricultural work will rely on the Agrarian Reform. The peasants are fighting steadfastly for it.
