Screening of the film The Everlasting Pea
On Sunday, May 25th at 8 PM, ODE Cellar Door teams up with the Santarém International Film Festival (FICS) for a special wine dinner that brings together gastronomy and cinema!
FICS posed a unique challenge: to transform the Canadian short film Everlasting Pea (2024, 17′), by Su Rynard, into a gastronomic experience. And that’s exactly how we’ll welcome you to this edition of Cinema à Mesa — an event that begins with a film screening and flows into a three-course dinner inspired by the film’s images, textures, and ideas.
A tasting menu created especially for the evening includes a starter, main course, and dessert. Non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, and ODE wines carefully paired for each course are all included.
An enchanting exploration of plant life that blends scientific inquiry with ancient ruins and mysterious dreamscapes. Through the eyes of a scientist questioning plant consciousness, a pea plant dreaming of its past in Rome’s Colosseum, and a botanist unravelling a mystery, The Everlasting Pea invites a profound reimagining of our relationship with the vegetal world.
